After the successful initial revival of the first locomotives in Korea by Hyundai-Rotem, the process of their gradual commissioning at the end customer in Tanzania is now underway. There, the mechanical and electrodynamic brakes are being fine-tuned, testing is being carried out at higher speeds (up to 165 km/h) compared to the Korean test track (approx. 40 km/h), and the behaviour in relation to the power supply system (Korea 60Hz vs. Tanzania 50Hz) is being carefully monitored.

The delivery represents a very demanding technical challenge: the locomotives will run on a completely new line of approximately 550 km in difficult climatic conditions with significant differences in altitude.
