Artic Tampere

The three-section, bi-directional tram ForCity Smart Artic Tampere has a 1 435 mm gauge, it's fully low-floor and it can accommodate 264 passengers (4 persons/m2).

The trams offer barrier-free access for wheelchair users and baby prams. The all-wheel drive and well-proven chassis with axles allow trouble-free operation in challenging climatic conditions. The materials and state-of-the-art technology used for the trams also correspond with the Nordic climate, guaranteeing a life span of up to 40 years. The technical concept of the tram also makes it possible to extend the vehicle by one section and increase the maximum capacity of the vehicle to 345 passengers.

Škoda Transportation Group will supply up to 65 of these new modern vehicles for the Finnish city of Tampere and provide long-term service. The vehicles are used on the newly built track.
