Metro Varsovia

The metro trainsets for Warsaw are produced at two sites in the Czech Republic - Ostrava and Pilsen.
In Ostrava, Škoda is manufacturing carbodies, while in Plzeň Škoda, it is carrying out the complete assembly and activation of six metro trains. A total of 37 trains are being manufactured with an option for a further 8, which makes a total of 270 cars. The metro train consists of six cars, through which it is possible to walk from end to end. The light structure carbodies consist of welded aluminium sections. The total length of the train, including couplings, is 119.010 metres. The interior of the passenger area (choice of material, selection of shapes and colours) has been designed with the aim of creating a pleasant environment for passengers and the driver. The external and internal audio-visual information system will keep the passengers fully informed, and the train will also have spaces for wheelchair users, prams and bicycles. A CCTV system contributes to greater passenger safety.
The train allows electro-dynamic braking with a preference for regenerative braking, where electrical energy is transferred back to the power system. The trains are manufactured according to EN and UIC standards. The order also includes the delivery of spare parts, a simulator, an extended guarantee and training.
