RegioPanthers in the Zlín Region: One Million Kilometres Travelled!

Five of our second-generation RegioPanter electric units have been transporting passengers in the Zlín Region for a year now. And in that time, they have clocked up a total of one million kilometres! This figure is more than just a statistic - it is the result of the expertise and hard work of people across the Škoda company.

Modern, barrier-free trains have significantly improved travel comfort on the route from Přerov via Hulín and Otrokovice to Břeclav. Passengers appreciate the comfortable ride, modern interior, and step-free access offered by the new units. “In one year, these trains have already clocked up a total of one million kilometres. To put this into perspective, it is as if a single Panter unit had been running continuously for almost an entire year at a speed of 120 km/h. The five trains have provided passengers in the region with nearly 1,200 seats in modern units that offer a fully up-to-date travel experience. These ‘million-kilometre’ RegioPanter trains have ensured more comfortable journeys for passengers, whether they are travelling to work, school, or leisure activities,” says Michal Krapinec, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of České dráhy.

Passengers travel on the modern, low-floor RegioPanter trains primarily on the route from Přerov to Břeclav. In addition, they also cover part of the service on express trains in sections of the South Moravian and Olomouc regions. The units travel 85,000 kilometres per month“I am pleased that this investment in the quality of regional rail transport is proving its worth so quickly and so clearly,” adds Radek Doležel, Deputy Governor of the Zlín Region responsible for transport.
