Electric locomotive service

The company Škoda offers its customers service solutions that extend the life of vehicles.
It carries out maintenance of twenty state-of-the-art Emil Zátopek locomotives for Czech Railways. The service experts from Škoda Group keep these locomotives, which can reach up to 200 km/h, constantly prepared for operation. The locomotives are designed mainly for passenger train transport especially on corridor routes in Central Europe.
Other Emil Zátopek locomotives are operated abroad, namely in Slovakia, where Škoda applies modern innovative solutions in order to maximize service quality and reduce vehicle lifecycle costs. The multi-system universal locomotives produced for Slovak Railways (ZSSK) have their maximum speed limited to 160 km/h. They are, however, equipped with a system for measuring the energy consumed and an ETCS train protection system. In addition, a total of thirty 71 Em locomotives were modernized for ČD Cargo and these locomotives are consigned in the Rail Vehicle Repair Centre of ČD Cargo in České Budějovice.
