The new trains are designed as dual-system units (3 kV DC, 25 kV AC) but are also equipped with batteries and a diesel powerpack. Naturally, they meet strict requirements for passenger comfort. Each train will include a dedicated business class section, with 10 seats in the two-car version and 16 seats in the three-car version. Passengers will appreciate, in both versions, a vending machine for refreshments, powerful air conditioning, a modern information system, Wi-Fi connectivity, and sockets for charging small electronic devices. Passenger safety will be enhanced by both interior and exterior camera systems. Level boarding and a low-floor interior will ensure convenient travel for people with reduced mobility. The trains will also feature an accessible toilet, space for prams, bicycles, and wheelchairs.
Digital technologies and energy savings
The new units will be equipped with advanced digital technologies developed by Škoda Group, ensuring comfort for both passengers and operators, both during operation and when coupling units. They will feature sophisticated systems for optimizing energy consumption and for smooth transitions between different operating modes, including optimization based on the current timetable and the line’s elevation profile. A remote monitoring system will help reduce maintenance costs and increase operational reliability. The trains will also be fitted with the standard European Train Control System (ETCS).
