Škoda Group becomes a new member of the Swiss–Czech Chamber of Commerce

Škoda Group, a leading European manufacturer of solutions for emission-free mobility, has officially become a member of the Swiss–Czech Chamber of Commerce. Membership in the Chamber represents another step in strengthening the Group’s activities on the Swiss market as well as in the broader DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), which has long been one of its key European markets. This membership opens up new opportunities for the development of business cooperation, knowledge sharing, and the establishment of strategic partnerships with major players in both the Swiss and Czech economies.

“Joining the Swiss–Czech Chamber of Commerce is a natural continuation of the development of our business activities in Switzerland and across the DACH region. This step will allow us to be even closer to our partners, actively engage in professional dialogue, and further expand our business opportunities. We already cooperate with a large number of Swiss suppliers who contribute to many key components of our projects,” says Jan Harder, President West & North at Škoda Group.

The Swiss–Czech Chamber of Commerce (HST) has long supported the development of economic relations between the two countries and provides a platform for connecting companies, sharing experience, and creating new business opportunities. It brings together approximately 150 members from both Czech and Swiss companies and regularly organizes expert seminars, conferences, and networking events.

Škoda Group is already active in Switzerland through specific projects in the field of railway modernization and digitalization. Current activities include, for example, cooperation with Speno International on the integration of the European Train Control System (ETCS) into specialized track maintenance vehicles. The project includes engineering and approval services related to the implementation of the system in 15 vehicles of the so-called “yellow fleet.” It also involves addressing complex requirements for operational approval across multiple European countries, highlighting the technological and regulatory complexity of such modernization projects.

A strong supply chain of Swiss companies has also been established, providing Škoda Group not only with complete solutions but also with individual components and materials for the production of vehicles and related technologies.

Škoda Group is also among the key European suppliers of public transport solutions, with its products and technologies deployed across Europe. The DACH region represents a key territory in terms of innovation, technological standards, and the volume of investment in rail infrastructure, where the Group systematically develops its activities. This extends beyond rail transport—Škoda Group also holds a strong position in the DACH region in the supply of trams and other rail vehicles for modern emission-free mobility.
