Autonomy

The Autonomy cluster brings together technologies for autonomous vehicles. The main goal of these technologies is to gradually replace drivers and make public transport options more efficient. The systems are designed with an emphasis on safe, environmentally friendly, efficient and economical vehicle operation.

ATO

ATO in GoA2 automates train control.

The system works on the basis of a positioning system that receives GNSS and odometry data.

  • Energy savings 5-15%
  • Optimisation of the travel plan
  • Train control automation
  • Sharing localisation with other train systems
ACS

The ACS is based on a unique combination of LiDAR, camera and HD maps.

Using smart sensors, it creates a virtual tunnel in front of the vehicle that detects people, cars, and other rolling stock.

  • Increases safety in cities and depots
  • Reduces damage and impacts of accidents in depots and traffic
  • Available in CWNB (Collision Warning No-Braking) and CWAB (Collision Warning Active Braking) mode
Smart Depo

Smart Depot automates individual operational tasks in the tram depot in order to increase the efficiency of service, maintenance and vehicle parking in the depot.

Autonomous operation in the depot is the first step towards fully autonomous trams in public service.

  • Increasing operational safety in the depot
  • Increased efficiency of depot operation
  • Possible solution to staff shortages
  • Cost savigns for depot staff
  • Release people from routine and inconvenient work
  • Next step towards fully autonomous trams in cities
