The selection of Dynamo design marks another significant milestone in the preparations for Škoda Group’s corporate identity change. In the next phase, the Škoda Group and Dynamo design will work together to create the new brand, trading name, visual identity and guidelines for its gradual roll-out across the entire Group. The full transition will be completed by June 2029 at the latest.
Škoda Group builds on nearly 170 years of industrial tradition dating back to the Škoda Works. The rebranding therefore represents one of the most significant moments in the group’s modern history, with implications for the Czech Republic’s rich engineering heritage. Its aim is not to abandon its own legacy, but to create a new corporate identity that will be a worthy continuation of this tradition and support the further international development of the group’s companies. Above all, however, this is a change that will preserve the continuity of everything the Škoda Group has long stood for – the expertise of its employees, its technical know-how, the quality of its products, and the trust of customers and the travelling public who encounter Škoda Group’s vehicles on a daily basis.
“In 2029, we will mark 170 years of the Škoda Group’s history, of which we are proud. It is a symbolic moment not only to look back on what generations of our employees have managed to build over almost two centuries, but also to create a new brand ready for the next hundred years. The rebranding is, above all, a commitment to the people who have been and continue to be behind the Škoda Group’s success. We want to build on their work and create an identity of which they will be just as proud as they are of the name that has accompanied our company for generations. It is equally important to maintain the trust of our customers, business partners and the millions of passengers who use our vehicles and technologies every day. Our name will change, but what matters most will remain the same – our people, our technical expertise, our quality and our ambition to drive modern public transport forward. That is why we looked for a partner capable of sensitively linking our extraordinary history with the company’s future,” says Petr Novotný, CEO of Škoda Group.
“We view the opportunity to be part of such an exceptional project as a great professional responsibility. It is rare for the Dynamo team to have the chance to write a new chapter in the story of a group that is synonymous with the success of Czech industry. Our ambition is to help create a brand of which employees can be just as proud as they are of the current one, and which can build on the trust that has been established both in the Czech Republic and in markets around the world. The project will also involve close collaboration with the specialist naming agency Name & Fame, which will lead the process of finding a new name,” said Michal Richtr, managing director of Dynamo design.
